From the Hola Bombón team comes a new concept inspired by Latin American street food sandwiches. If your stomach is seeking for a savory snack and quick bites, Chori Chori is now open for delivery and pick-up!
A Choripán Obsession
The cloud kitchen came into fruition just this month, with the culinary team of the Poblacion restaurant and bar taking inspiration from choripán, a street-side sandwich famous in Argentina. The Latin chorizo sandwich has seen local iterations on our own shores — the Pinoy sweet-style choriburger — but the key difference in the Argentine version is the sausage patty. Chori Chori’s sandwiches use a pita pocket and stuffed inside is a smoky grilled sausage patty.
Adding more texture to this mouthwatering sandwich is onion curtido (pickled onions) that also lend some acidity to balance the hefty meatiness of the patty. Another layer of texture and flavor comes in the form of patatas fritas, mealy thick-cut fries. Completing the flavor bomb are chimichurri and escabeche aioli, so you’ve got an explosion of wonderful flavors working on your palate with every bite.
Two sandwiches are now available at Chori Chori: the Chori (P250) and the Criollo (P245). The former packs in a good amount of heat if you like it garlicky and spicy, as this sandwich tucks in a house-made Spanish-style chorizo sausage patty. The Criollo, on the other hand, uses a house-made criollo sausage patty that is more herbaceous with minimal heat. It’ll be an easy favorite with very agreeable flavors.
Chori Chori is also offering their Patatas Fritas (P175) as a side dish, which is served with a lip-smacking escabeche aioli and sweet-leaning bravas sauce. More Choripán varieties are in the works, so follow them on Instagram to know when they’ll launch the new sandwiches!
