A special virtual tasting featuring Japanese Whisky & Filipino Artisan Chocolate to celebrate Father’s Day

Pairing chocolate with whisky is always an exquisite experience and The Tasting Club will host a unique tasting event this month of Father's Day.

The Tasting Club, in partnership with LIT Manila and Malagos Chocolate, is pleased to announce the event The Flavors of Japanese Whisky & Filipino Artisan Chocolate, a one-of-a-kind, virtual tasting to take place on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 6:00 PM via Zoom.

Japanese Whisky + Philippine Chocolate

During the virtual tasting, Francis T. Hasegawa – Japanese Whisky Specialist of LIT Manila – will guide the attendees to appreciate the complexity and expressiveness of 5 different Japanese whiskies. This event will be a great occasion for all participants to explore the main categories of Japanese whisky – Blended, Single Grain & Single Malt – and discover the craft of world class distilleries. Francis T. Hasegawa will demonstrate also how to make a Highball like a professional bartender.

Collateral #2 - The Tasting Club - Japanese Whisky and Filipino Chocolate

Rex Puentespina – Chocolate Maker of Malagos Chocolate – will share about the craftmanship of his award-winning dark chocolate produced from tree to bar in Mindanao. This will be an immersive experience to understand better the production of artisan dark chocolates with some of the finest cocoa beans in the world.

Pairing chocolate with whisky is always an exquisite experience and this is why the month of Father’s Day is the perfect opportunity to host this tasting event. Each participant will receive 5 samples of Japanese Whisky (50ml each) and a selection of 4 Dark Chocolates (20g each) on the day of the event to enjoy this exclusive virtual masterclass.

Some of the most iconic whisky distilleries in Japan will be featured during the tasting: Suntory Kakubin (Blended), Mars IWAI Blue (Blended), Nikka From The Barrel (Blended), Chita (Single Grain), and Matsui Sakura (Single Malt). The Japanese whisky selection will be paired with different dark chocolates (Dark Chocolate 56%, 65%, 72%, and 85%).
