When in Alabang, you'll never really run out of things to try because of the many dining options in the area. From cafes and ramen places to restaurants where titas could go and hang out over good food, we're sure you could always find something that would fit and satisfy what they're craving for.
But if it's authentic Italian cuisine you're looking for, Da Gianni Cucina Italiana at Westgate Alabang is where you should definitely go. The place is already Mateo Guidicelli's second restaurant, the first being Trattoria Da Gianni which opened in Cebu 4 years ago. And just like his first restaurant, the dishes that they serve here in Da Gianni Cucina Italiana pay tribute to the recipes of Matteo's grandparents.
Available from store opening to 10:30AM, you can also grab breakfast here at Da Gianni and choose from their Filipino and their Western breakfast menu. For the Filipino menu, you may opt for their Cebu Danggit with Tomatoes and Potatoes (P385), Chorizo de Cebu with Beans (P385), and Smoked Bacon (P385). These already come with Mindoro Rice, 2 sunny side up eggs, and a cup of brewed coffee, making it a complete meal already!
For their Western fare, guests may order Da Gianni's Assorted Bread (P350) which gets them a homemade croissant or a chocolate croissant, and 2 slices of homemade bread, served with seasonal jam, and artisinal butter which they produce in a wooden churn.
Another breakfast dish to try from them is the Croquet Madame (P385) which has sunny side up eggs, ham, Provolone cheese, Parmiggiano padano, and Mozarella.
Of course, everyone should also try at least one of the pizza and pasta they have on the menu. For their pizza, their Quattro Formaggi (P485) is a bestseller, and is perfect for anyone who loves cheese and truffles. Da Gianni also allows diners to get half and half for their pizza especially for those who can't decide whether you like their Quattro Formaggi or their Pepperoni better.
When it comes to their pasta, diners would find the classics like Meatballs, Aglio Olio, and Pesto on the menu. They could even choose which kind of pasta they want for their dish. If you want something new and different, though, make sure to go for their Seafood Pasta which has clams, crabs, squid – basically everything you could ask for from a seafood dish!
Don't forget to save some room for dessert! Their Coppa Tri Cioccolatti is a treat for those with a sweet tooth as it has layer upon layer of chocolate, hazelnut, and crunchy wafer. Then there's the Tiramisu Espresso, another bestseller, which is made of layers of Ladyfingers, Mascarpone, and Cacao. It's also made on the table, so guests also get to watch how the guys in Da Gianni make their dessert, building up the excitement for this treat!
