The Test Kitchen announces the recent re-opening of its mezzanine area for extra privacy, and the launch of new dishes.
On The Menu: Aged beef, Rustic Salad, and a Swedish Dessert
Whenever one thinks of imaginative cooking, Josh Boutwood’s name immediately comes to mind… he, who spins magic into food at his homegrown restaurant including The Test Kitchen. This sophisticated and innovative restaurant is the chef’s culinary playground, where his creativity and ingenious use of locally-sourced ingredients, is much touted in Manila’s food scene.
This November, he introduces yet new dishes that aim to please the eyes and the palate. One is Beef Tartare, lightly aged beef, seasoned with fresh horseradish root, mustard leaf gremolata and served with an egg yolk gel and covered with a crisp layer of bread. One can just imagine the luxurious taste of melt-in-the-mouth beef with a hint of spice and freshness.
For those partial to pork, there’s the Pork Chop glazed in cola miso sauce and grilled over open charcoal and served with braised red cabbage & pickled jicamas and carrots.
Rustic is how Boutwood describes his new salad – Zucchini and Head Cheese, covered in raw zucchini dressed in lemon juice and cold pressed olive oil, fresh mint, parsley and parmigiano cheese.
Finally, The Test Kitchen is proud to introduce Kladkaka, a decadent Swedish chocolate cake served with rich in-house vanilla ice cream.
