La Petite Fromagerie has been hosting virtual wine and cheese tastings since July to keep all the cheese lovers entertained and educated during this pandemic. For August, it is partnering with a sommelier for a virtual class on Cheese Essentials and Wine Pairing.
Sommelier Gail Sotelo of 2 Shots And A Pint joins Karla Reyes of La Petite Fromagerie for a delicious discourse on Cheese Basics & Fail-Safe Wines. This virtual tasting class happens on Saturday, August 22, 2020.
Turn your cheese smarts up a notch in this Zoom session where they will introduce you to the basics of cheese: understanding the product better so you are well informed the next time you’re shopping in a deli. In this intro class, you’ll also learn about the types of cheeses and how to categorize them, its different flavor profiles and textures, and you’ll also know how to use the proper kitchen tools like cheese knives next time you’re preparing a wine and cheese night at home. Of course, serving suggestions will be discussed along with the best wine pairings.
When you join the class, you will be given a Tasting Set that includes a cheese box (an assortment of cheeses, crostinis, and grapes), 2 bottles of wine, and a link to the Zoom guided tasting session (via e-mail). The items will be delivered to your address one day before the Zoom session.
The virtual Wine and Cheese Class class in August will also feature Jutes Templo of Gino’s Brick Oven Pizza, where they make their own cheeses daily, to support and promote other local businesses during the pandemic. Participants will also get to experience an interactive workshop to make their own cheese!
