Located on the 24th floor of the Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, you can find Cucina which is an all-day restaurant with an interactive open kitchen featuring a fresh and healthy buffet and an a la carte menu offering unique and traditional Continental and Asian cuisine.
Accommodating up to 156 guests, Cucina offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with dishes changing up daily. From the cheese and cold cuts section and the seafood station to the Asian noodles and carving, Cucina aims to be a one-stop-restaurant for all the finest flavors that you may be looking for.
Curious on where to start first? Showing up to a buffet feast without a plan of attack is a terrible idea. Here's an eat-all-you-can guide, including what you must not miss when you dine at Cucina:
Start Strong With Appetizers:
Make sure you start slow and steady. Head on over to the bread, cheese and cold cuts section for a good start for a filling feast you're about to have. Grab a piece or two of their cheese rolls and we're sure you'll be thanking us later. As most buffets have toasters by the bread, Cucina hasn't any, but you can have them heated by any of the friendly staff in the restaurant.
Moving on to a more familiar station – the Japanese section has a couple of classic and unique selection of sushi, nigiri and rolls. You can also ask the chefs to make you a beautiful Kani Salad that you'll be too afraid to touch.
Must Not Miss:
Just like in any other buffet spread, you shouldn't miss out on Cucina's carving station. Douse it with their signature sauces – apple sauce, peppercorn sauce and mushroom sauce – to enhance the already flavorful slices of meat that you have. You shouldn't skip on the mixed vegetables and potato gratin that goes well with the juicy steak!
Looking for more meat to munch on? Head on over to the grill station where you can have different skewers to have grilled upon order. They have pork, beef and the lamb skewers that are our favorite, which you can pair with some mint jelly. Cucina also has seafood and shellfish that are available for grilling, baking and can also serve as a topping for their made-to-order pasta dishes.
Up for some fresh pasta? They have three kinds of pasta dishes that are made upon order. You can choose from Vongole Pasta, Putanesca Pasta and Stir Fry Noodles – all of which you can mix in with the meat and seafood from the buffet spread.
Save the best for last. Make sure you still have room for Cucina's desserts! Get yourself a slice (or two) of Chocolate Haven which is their signature chocolate cake or the sweet and tart Kaffir Lime Leche Flan. They also have a variety of ice cream, miniature cakes and pastries that are worth checking out – Mango Mascarpone, Mango Cheesecake, Banana Yogurt Nutella, and so much more.
