Located on the third floor of the New World Manila Bay Hotel, Market Café promises you an extremely mouth-watering experience upon entering. The whole restaurant is well-lit and designed by Hong Kong-based and world-renowned Bilkey Llinas Design, adding the restaurant's modern look and having Filipino baskets as accents giving it that cozy Filipino ambiance we're comfortable with.
As soon as you enter the hotel's buffet restaurant, you'll instantly notice the spacious dining area and an open kitchen where diners can enjoy the sight of the dishes being prepared right in front of them. Other dishes are displayed exquisitely in every station, allowing diners to effortlessly choose which dish to grab first.
Showing up to a buffet feast without a plan of attack is a terrible idea. Here's your eat-all-you-can guide (including what you must not miss!) when you indulge in New World Manila Bay Hotel's Market Café!
Start Strong with Appetizers:
If you're like us who just can't get enough of cheese and cold cuts, you'll appreciate Market Café's options – it's not as big as other buffet spreads but it's enough to keep you excited on what the restaurant has to offer. Be sure to check out their soup of the day and see if they have their Blue Cheese Tomato Soup!
Have a taste of the land of the rising sun with their unique offering of sushi, sashimi, yakimono, and tempura. It may not be considered as an appetizer but in the Japanese section is the teppanyaki station that you shouldn't miss out on. Have any of the meat and vegetables grilled to your liking and splash them with their signature sauce. We couldn't get enough of their grilled bacon & enoki and the salmon skewers!
Must Not Miss:
Showcasing authentic European and American cuisine, the Western station has dishes fresh off the grill, oven and pan. And since New World Manila Bay houses The Fireplace which is their grill room and steakhouse restaurant you shouldn't miss having a slice or two (or maybe three) from the huge slab of U.S. Angus Steak.
This section also serves a variety of pizzas (as a la carte) and pasta – carbonara, pesto, Aglio olio, puttanesca, tomato and basil – that is freshly prepared upon ordering. Tip: you can ask them to add some truffle paste in your pasta!
Just like in any other Chinese Kitchen, theirs has a lot of cooking action behind their live-action counters. You can enjoy different kinds of freshly made noodles and dim sum, dishes straight out of the wok, roast meats and so much more. Tip: you can bring fresh seafood to the chefs and have them whip you up some delicious seafood platter – Singaporean chili, salt & pepper and Schezuan, to name a few.
Just when you thought you've had enough, Market Café's dessert station will entice even those who don't have a sweet tooth. We'd like to believe there's a separate storage for desserts! Choose from their lip-smacking dessert options – cakes, miniature pastries, crepes, puddings, homemade ice cream and sorbets, and so much more. They even have a create-your-own-donut so you can get creative on what flavor and toppings you want your hot and piping donuts to have. This is definitely perfect for the kids and kids at heart.
