We’ve been spending majority of our hours at home, so we’ve all found our way in kitchen to somehow cook (or even try to!) this quarantine. This doesn’t come easy for some, though. Grocery shopping and prepping food can be a hassle. Enter one of the lockdown food trends I enjoy: DIY meal kits to cook at home!
Local food tech company Food Czar just rolled out something you can now deliver to your doorstep: chef-designed meal kits to recreate some of your favorite restaurant dishes. These kits can easily be cooked and enjoyed in the comfort of your own home!
Your food hack for quick chef-designed meals
Food Czar found a way to innovate their business through these meal kits and use their primary service as its strength. They’re firstly a catering solution brand with 100 restaurant partners, which include as Cyma, Hawker Chan, and Zong. With the meal kits, you can recreate restaurant meals at home!
Each meal kit features fresh pre-portioned ingredients so you’d barely need to use a knife. Everything is measured and prepped so you just have to assemble to cook or bake. Some of the dishes in their lineup are Kung Pao Chicken by Zong, Pork Hot Basil by Thai restaurant Nara, and Kare-Kare Rice with Binagoongan Tokwa by Chef Robby Goco of Cyma.
All dishes take 30 minutes to make, and come with printed and easy-to-follow recipe sheets. There’s also a printed meal plan for the week that suggest which dishes to cook for lunch and dinner per day so you won’t have to plan it out yourself!
Food Czar’s meal kit comes in a set of 10 dishes (lunch and dinner) good for 2 pax with an introductory price of Php2,300 (exclusive of delivery charge). To order, contact Food Czar’s Facebook page, Instagram (@foodczarph), or via Viber at 0947-1577255. Delivery available to selected areas in Metro Manila, but more locations will be served soon!
