Eat of the Week: A Valentine collection of ice cream flavors that understands your feelings

As it has the past years, Sebastian's Ice Cream unleashes its wittiest self whenever it rolls out their Valentine Series flavors. Here's the drool-inducing lineup to keep this week of romance sweet (or a little bitter) for both the single and the attached. It's the perfect time to eat your feelings.

As it has before, local favorite Sebastian's Ice Cream unleashes its wittiest self whenever rolling out their Valentine Series flavors — ice cream artisan Ian Carandang makes sure that there is a sweet treat especially crafted for the lovestruck, the heartbroken, or the hopeful. In short, it's the perfect time to eat your feelings.

Check out this year's drool-inducing lineup to keep this week of romance sweet (or a little bitter) for both the single and the attached.

For those in dire need of a decent, good guy in their life, order a Matinong Boyfriend: a scoop of Dulce de Leche ice cream, using Dulce de Leche that's made from scratch, paired with strawberry sorbet made with real strawberries. Described as "sweet, straightforward, uncomplicated but with plenty of depth," it really does sound like an ideal…dessert.

Playful, sweet, and anything but boring– that's what a Matinong Girlfriend is all about. Dark Chocolate ice cream meets pieces of chicharon with laman hand-dipped in chocolate, and finished off with a garnishing of roasted cocoa nibs for a smoky finish. A combination that sounds a little silly and crazy and at the same time—like a dream come true.

Is closure overrated? Instead of mulling over it, just enjoy every refreshing spoonful of Closure — made with Earl Grey ice cream with hints of Lemon and Orange infused in a cream base. Perhaps the calming tea added with citrus to rejuvenate will ease your tastebuds and somehow soothe your heart to let go of the past and anticipate a bright future ahead.

And finally, the fourth flavor to taste this month of love is for those who choose to remain bitter, not better. Unresolved Issues makes a comeback this 2016 — the exact same flavor, unchanged. The same old bitter ampalaya sorbet with the same old candied ampalaya in every scoop. Same old thing, zero progress — that's what you get with unresolved issues.

The Dish: 2016 Valentine Series Collection, available  P125 per scoop (Matinong Boyfriend, Matinong Girlfriend and Closure; Unresolved Issues at P100 per scoop).

Where to Find it: Sebastian's Ice Cream, with branches in Mall of Asia, Podium, and Regis Center Katipunan (2016 Valentine Series Collection is available for two weeks)

Many of our favorite restaurants have a champion dish, that item that help put them on the map (and on everyone's Instagram feed), and here we set out to put the spotlight on a dish you must not miss on your next foodtrip!
