New World Makati Hotel‘s in-house buffet restaurant Cafe 1228 has recently reopened its dinner buffet, officially bringing back its all-you-can-eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner for guests. Through their overflowing spreads, the hotel continues to deliver service of the highest quality, not only through their hospitality but also through good food!
Located on the ground floor of the New World Makati Hotel, Cafe 1228 offers a spacious interior that can seat up to 90 diners, with wooden accents, chic furniture, and tables that cater to groups both large and small. The restaurant has seven buffet stations that offer indulgent cuisines ranging from Western to Asian and local offerings. They also offer pasta, noodle dishes, and meat and seafood that are fresh off the pan!
For starters, one can dive into their charcuterie station and have your pick on their assortment of cheese, bread, and butter. You can also opt for their selection of salads for a light appetizer.
There are plenty of choices for the main course, as a buffet should, and you sure can find the dishes that would suit your senses with their wide selection of cuisines.
At the carving station, you can enjoy a savory beef brisket on the weekdays and some equally sumptuous ribeye on the weekend. Also part of the station are sausages, chicken, and pork spareribs that are prepped and cooked right in front of you. As for their western offerings steeped in sauce, we got to try their Blue Marlin with bell pepper and mint leaves; Roast Beef with mushroom; and some Pork Stew.
If you fancy Italian, you can also have your pick of pasta and mix-ins and the chef will prepare it for you, and on weekends, you can dig into their hand-tossed pizza that’s fresh off of their oven.
Take a turn at their Japanese station, and you are greeted with seven kinds of sushi, miso soup, and some crisp and crave-worthy tempura– fish and vegetables on the weekdays, and shrimp on the weekends.
Across this station, you can grab more Asian selections such as a hearty bowl of noodles and different kinds of dim sum including pork and beef siomai, siopao, and chicken feet. You can also take your pick on their seafood selections and have them prepared by the chef.
They also have a station dedicated to more delicious offerings from Asia, including Korean Fried Chicken, our very own beef tapa, Chow Mein, and more. These selections are in rotation, keeping their buffet lineup fresh and seasonal.
When you avail the buffet, you also get access to a free flow of drinks such as soda and juices, but if you’d like to add spirit to your meal, they also offer a free flow of red wine, white wine, and local beer for an additional P588 nett.
Finish off your hearty meal at Cafe 1228 with their lineup of sweet desserts, including cheesecakes, ube halaya, pudding, and other sweet treats.
If you want to have a filling breakfast buffet at Cafe 1228, you can enjoy local and international morning staples such as bacon, chicken and pork sausages, hashbrowns, baked beans, egg dishes, and more. The carving station calls with its forest ham paired with grilled vegetables, while you can also have your pick on Pinoy favorites such as beef tapa, chicken tocino, daing nab angus, traditional pork adobo, and more.
Other breakfast items include miso soup, grilled salmon or white fish in teriyaki sauce, tamago with teriyaki sauce and bonito flakes, beef and chicken noodles soup, and an array of charcuterie and cheeses.
