This really is a Korean invasion we love!

Kko Kko really is a Korean invasion we love!

Aside from being on TV, Grace Lee is also a full time restaurateur. She owns Atelier Vivanda, Nikuya Charcoal Grill & Shabu Shabu, Buta Wagyu and her newest baby, Kko Kko which already has three branches.

Unlike other Korean restaurants in the metro, Kko Kko is a combination of traditional and modern cooking. Traditional since you'll still find all your classic Korean favorites; most of them are recipes from her om-ma (mom in Korean) but modern since the dishes are prepared and served in a unique way.

As you skim through the menu, you'll notice that it's divided into three categories – Korean Fried Chicken, Korean Street Food and Korean Lunchbox. Clueless as to which to order? Here are a few of the must-try dishes that will instantly transport you to Seoul.

Start your Korean feast with some Fried Mandoo (P178) which are deep fried pork and chive dumplings in Korea that's usually steamed, boiled, pan-fried, or deep-fried. At Kko Kko, these are deep-fried served with a serving of their own special sauce.

Since the restaurant is the home of Seoul chicken, the Chicken Popcorn (P298/half; P488/whole) is a can't-miss. It is a serving of boneless chicken thigh tossed in their special powder with a choice of cheese or fire chili. There's also a serving of Japchae (P128) that will fill you just right while waiting for the star of the restaurant.

If you're a cheese lover, you're in for a treat. The highlight at Kko Kko is the Chicken Cheese Fondue (P658/half; P988/whole) that's great for sharing. It has spicy french fries, homemade onion rings and boneless chicken chunks that's meant to be dipped in melted cheese served in the bread bowl. Just when you thought you're done indulging, they cut the bread masked in gooey cheese to perfectly end your meal.

The sauce is available in Original, Mustard Garlic or Spicy Cheese

The newest branch of Kko Kko is at the G/F of Market! Market! They're also at The Sapphire Bloc, Sapphire Road, Ortigas, Pasig City and 2/F Paseo Center, Paseo De Roxas Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City. Like them on Facebook and follow them on Instagram for more information.
