Pinoy Potlucks and Meals at Home Made Easy with Baliwag’s Ready-to-Heat Food Packs
Nothing beats a really good home-cooked Filipino meal at home. It’s both nostalgic and comforting, and there’s just something so satisfying pairing a really delicious ulam with freshly steamed rice. Now, prepping and cooking for some of your favorite Pinoy viands can be such an inconvenience, not to mention the kitchen cleanup! So well-curated frozen food packs come to the rescue, as they can be reliable staples to stash in the freezer, reheating and prepping is made so much easier.
Baliwag Restaurant conceptualized their ready-to-heat Lutong Pinoy packs during the early stages of the pandemic, and now offers a chock-full of savory specialties that go beyond (and complement!) their famous lechon manok, liempo, and chicharon. These frozen, ready-to-heat food packs are good for sharing for 3 to 4 people, and are repackaged products from Baliwag that make at-home dining much more fuss-free. All packs are reasonably priced within the P200 to P300 range, and are good for sharing!

Kuya J Restaurant Adds Rainbow and Chocolate Halo-Halo to their Halo-Halo Espesyal Line-Up
No matter the month or season, a tall glass of Halo-Halo makes merienda or dessert extra special. Through the years we’ve tasted different iterations of this Filipino dessert, from minimalist ingredients, classic and traditional takes, and modern twists — and as its name implies, anything goes, really, when it comes to ingredients you want to mix in halo halo!
For a limited time, Kuya J Restaurant is offering two new Halo-Halo flavors on their menu, to keep its popular Halo-Halo Espesyal and Ube Halo-Halo Espesyal company. To give this Pinoy favorite a colorful and flavorful twist, Kuya J created the Rainbow Halo-Halo and Chocolate Halo-Halo, now available in their branches nationwide!
@clickthecity New Halo-Halo alert! Will you taste the rainbow ???? or go loco over choco?! ???? #EntertainmentPH #TikTokTakeoutPH #TikTokEatsPH #FoodieTokPH #KuyaJResto ♬ HALO HALO (feat. Chevy) – Shawn Wasabi
Colorful and IG-worthy, the Rainbow Halo-Halo Espesyal (P130) is an interesting and unique mix of flavors and ingredients. There’s pink banana, blue bubblegum, yellow melon, and white vanilla, their swirl of colors making this dessert look like it’s been concocted by a magical unicorn. Other mix-ins include tropical jelly, mallows, and a topping of with sprinkles. The bubblegum flavor stands out in this one, and eating this will make you feel like a little kid again!
The second halo-halo reinvention is the Chocolate Halo-Halo Espesyal (P130), which is something chocolate lovers should check out. The shaved ice itself is chocolate flavored, and accompanied by chunks of brownies, chocolate fudge, cashews, and toasted marshmallows. It’s also topped with candy sprinkles. The combination of ingredients reminds me of a rocky road dessert, only this time around it’s in the form of a halo-halo treat.
Kuya J’s Rainbow Halo-Halo Espesyal and Chocolate Halo-Halo Espesyal are available for a limited time only at for dine-in at 70 branches of Kuya J Restaurant nationwide, and is also available for delivery via Central Delivery, GrabFood, foodpanda, and Pickaroo.
