Premium Sushi Platter (P899) by MItasu Yakiniku

We have less than 80 days till Christmas, and we’re more and more on the lookout for party-worthy food delivery for our celebrations at home. From potluck meals and party platters to beautiful cakes, Metro Manila is teeming with delicious choices for good-for-sharing food options. To make your Japanese feasts at home convenient, Mitasu Yakiniku is now rolling out a premium sushi dish that has a good mix of maki and aburi sushi presented in a platter.

For only P899, the Premium Sushi Platter rounds up 7 kinds of sushi — enough variety to share with your friends or family. You get 8 pieces each of the Golden Roll Maki and California Maki, 4 rolls each of the Spicy Salmon Maki and Spicy Tuna Maki (a personal favorite), and 3 pieces each of Tamago Aburi Sushi, Kani Aburi Sushi, and Salmon Sushi. Start off your Japanese-themed celebration at home with this sushi platter, and while you’re at it, complete the experience by taking home the restaurant’s yakiniku experience with their Grill-To-Go menu for your main course!

To order the Premium Sushi Platter (P899), drop by Mitasu Yakiniku branches at Banawe QC and SM City Olongapo, or order online for store pick-up and delivery via mitasu.fredleygroup.com

Maya Releases New ThinkHeart Oatmeal Pancake Mix

Maya has been a go-to brand for easy cooking and baking at home, thanks to their different cake and baking mixes and pancake mixes making breakfast easy and tasty. With the Maya ThinkHeart line, they are now adding a healthier spin to your food staples at home such as pancakes! The ThinkHeart line features healthier alternatives such as oats, whole wheat, and muscovado sugar in their easy-to-follow mixes.

Maya first introduced the Maya ThinkHeart Whole Wheat Pancake Mix, and now has rolled out the all-new Maya ThinkHeart Oatmeal Pancake Mix, which combines the goodness of two breakfast hits — oatmeal and pancakes. The healthier take on pancakes gives a heftier, chewier texture because of the real oats in the mix. Oats are known to improve heart health by lowering blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels, and this pancake mix also includes the distinct sweetness of muscovado sugar, replacing refined sugar. I find this particular pancake mix thick and heavy, so mini-pancakes work best as these fill you up quick! Follow Maya on IG so you can see different creative recipes you can try at home using their ThinkHeart products.

Order your ThinkHeart products and other Maya products through their official Lazada and Shopee stores; also available in supermarkets and groceries nationwide. Follow and like Maya Hotcakes and More on Facebook, and @MayaHotcakesandMore on Instagram.

Ping Pong Diplomacy Returns through The Grid Online

Eat Sheet - Dan Dan Rice by Ping Pong Diplomacy
The Grid brings back some of PPD’s crowd favorites such as this Dan Dan Rice (P515) good for sharing

The Grid Food Market is resurrecting one of Tasteless Food Group’s restaurants, by way of its cloud kitchen. Ping Pong Diplomacy, a progressive Chinese restaurant that used to be located in SM Aura, is now going online! I remember how playful and flavorful their menu used to be, with Chefs Him Uy de Baron and Noel Mauricio reinventing Chinese-American cuisine in many interesting ways, and their crispy eggplant dish is one that’s been embedded in my food memory. Now, you can reunite with (or discover!) PPD’s famous Crunchy Eggplant and other top hits you can now order for pick-up and delivery during weekends!

Each PPD dish now available through The Grid is portioned for sharing (2-3 persons), and are all available for pre-orders to be delivered (or for pick-up) from Thursday to Sunday. Aside from the Crunchy Eggplant (P295), other must-tries are the flavor bomb that is the Dan Dan Rice (P515) topped with fried eggs, crispy chicken skin, and crushed peanuts (this is perfect with a squeeze of lemon before mixing everything in) and Not Mapo Tofu (P475), which revamps the Sichuan tofu dish by using a silky steamed soy custard and a topping of ground pork and crispy fried leeks. Don’t sleep on their Simple Fried Egg (P290): its flavors and textures are the polar opposite of its name, every bite a joy with this crunchy and chewy combination mixed in with salty, sweet, and spicy. Your delivery will come with reheating instructions so that you get to enjoy all the Ping Pong Diplomacy dishes at their best form.

Ping Pong Diplomacy is now open for pre-orders daily, with deliveries available every Thursday to Sunday. Order for pick-up and delivery at thegridfoodmarket.com or bit.ly/shop-ppd.
