From coffee to specialty drinks, savory food to artisanal ice cream, beans to curated merchandise -- Elephant Grounds is poised to become the Manila foodie's next favorite stomping ground when it opens its first Philippine outpost, located in BGC.
From Coffee to Food to Retail
The popular Hong Kong cafe and micro-roaster takes pride in sourcing their coffee beans from small farms around the world, as well as roasting the beans themselves to offer signature blends alongside premium single origin beans to make your beverage experience artisanal.
Along with the selection of coffee and specialty drinks are Elephant Grounds' famed ice cream, handcrafted and churned, and comes in different unique flavors. Aside from getting Ice Cream by the scoop (P150), the cafe also sells these as Ice cream sandwiches (P165), best paired with a cup of coffee. Currently, the Philippine outlet has eight different ice cream flavors, using locally produced milk from Holly's Milk: Hazelnut, Chocolate, Cookies and Cream, Rocky Road, Earl Grey, Mixed Acai (using real acai berries), EG Latte (an ice cream version of their popular coffee), and Toasted Rice. Every scoop already comes with toppings.
For the hungry, get your fill of Asian inspired savory dishes with their all-day offerings, and Elephant Grounds has tapped Chef Nicco Santos (of Your Local and Hey Handsome) to create a food menu that encapsulates the brand's focus on quality, attention to detail, presentation, distinctive taste, and experiences. Santos is now the Executive Chef of The Standard Group, the folks behind katsu favorite Yabu, and the group responsible for bringing Ippudo, and Mighty Quinns, and now Elephant Grounds to the Philippines.
The chef shares how exciting it is to collaborate with Elephant Grounds for its food, as the brand wanted to give a distinctive local flair when it comes to its offerings. Expect different Elephant Grounds exclusives when it expands to more branches in the metro, each one offering something a little different from the other. The second branch of Elephant Grounds in the Philippines is set to open in Podium, Ortigas, within the year.
Going beyond food and drink, Elephant Grounds also brings in their coffee beans and curated merchandise to the table. Its same street lifestyle and aesthetic is brought to life in the Manila branch, and the BGC spot will be pet-friendly. Guests can park their bikes and scooters, enjoy brunch with the family, and let their pups tag along too. Customers can also get to browse through and buy items like caps, shirts, and beans to take home.
