La Lola is Opening in Singapore and Introduces Pork Floss Churros Among its Exclusive Products

Born and raised in Philippines, the all-day dessert place and churros shop is now taking flight and heading overseas! Here's a peek into the new dishes that will be exclusive to La Lola's first international branch, opening in Singapore this November.

Born and raised in Philippines, the sweet and sassy all-day dessert place and churros shop is now taking flight and heading overseas!

"La Lola started in December 2014, and it's been a beautiful ride," shares Dani Aliaga of Bistronomia, "We never expected the reception from the Filipino market, and it has been a beautiful learning curve." He also says that their homegrown churreria concept opened up a window to the Filipinos, from Luzon to Visayas to Mindanao. "We are present in all those areas, and we can only say thank you."

The brand's expansion to Singapore — its very first branch overseas — is made possible by the MFT Group, a private equity firm that lists Salad Stop Spain and Vietnam and Mimi & Bros. on their food and beverage portfolio.

According to Dr. Eric Tan, MFT's chief operations officer, the group's journey with La Lola started a long time ago. "We've been celebrating a lot of events in their businesses way way back, since 2009, 2010, and we've been a fan of La Lola since they opened." After seeing the brand expand quickly in the country, MFT figured to expand it outside of the Philippines, and Singapore will be La Lola's first stop. "We're looking at other areas as well, we are doing studies right now." Tan also shares that their strong confidence in bringing La Lola to the international market is because of its strong local team, strong marketing team, a strong finance backing, and the full support of Bistronomia has in the MFT group.

Yakult Iced Tea: freshly brewed house ice tea mixed with everyone's favorite probiotic drink
Aside from classic Chocolate and Dark Choclate dips for your classic churros, they're bringing in more flavors
Matcha Dip: white chocolate infused with green tea powder
Cream Cheese Dip: smooth blended cream cheese
Pork Floss Xuxo: this Singapore exclusive stuffed churrro is filled with garlic aioli, topped with pork floss, and drizzled with cheese. Sweet, savory, crunchy, chewy — rich and exploding with flavors and textures!

Hopefully these new Singapore-exclusive items we got to try will make it to our own local shops as a limited edition run. And with a creative kitchen team always coming up with exciting churros concoctions to introduce to its customers (including a full-blown La Lola cafe in Glorietta — a lifestyle concept complete with a lot of savory dishes in the works), we can't wait for more delicious desserts and savory treats!
