Whether you're catching up with your girlfriends, working over the weekend or just looking for a new place where you can enjoy good food, Flossom Kitchen + Cafe is a charming garden-themed restaurant tucked in San Juan's residential neighborhood you need to check out. They specialize in modern comfort food and offers your classic favorites with an exciting twist even your grandparents would approve of!
Sure, they have a number of must-tries on the menu; I had a hard time which one to try first but a standout is their Ube Champorado. It's Flossom Kitchen + Cafe's version of the classic Champorado but instead of using cacao, they infuse it with purple yam for a slightly sweet taste and a creamy texture. And if you ask me, it's perfect to brighten up your day this rainy season or a dessert after a satisfying meal.
Not only it is a feast for your tastebuds but it is a delight to your eyes as well! Priced at P280, a serving gives you a generous amount of ube rice stew topped with sweet macapuno strings, salted fish flakes to balance the sweetness and drizzled with yema sauce. A spoonful gives off a unique taste but is bound to bring you back to your childhood.
