When in Pampanga, make a beeline for this bakery-cafe because these famous freshly baked cheese breads are in-demand and get sold out quick!
L.A. Bakeshop has been baking classic and homey bread since 1985 in Pampanga, and the main draw here is their Original Cheesebread -- it's what they're proudly displaying next to their logo, after all. It's the bakery is the home of the original cheese bread. And I promise you, it's not like any kind of cheese bread you've had before.
They also bake loaves, ensaymadas, Spanish rolls, and cheese rolls, but these small golden breads with a crusty coating are the crave-worthy snacktime noms that people actually go out of their way of to bring home as pasalubong (or roadtrip snack, especially to avoid getting hangry while stuck in traffic).
The smell alone of these freshly baked cheesebread will make your mouth water, and since these are highly treasured treats, boxes of the cheesebread often run out of stock -- so better call for advanced orders! Order ahead, so you can easily pick up these babies in whatever branch is nearest you.
Pop one of these breads in your mouth when you get them hot off the oven -- one piece is actually never enough since it is light and airy and easily inhaled. The beauty in this bread is its unique crusty coating on top -- a combination of sweet sugar and salty cheese. It's what will make you open the box and grab one, two, and surely another one for good measure. Their cheesebread is pure love in the form of carbs.
