The previous title holder of the Guinness World Record was Napoli Pizza Village, in Naples, Italy, where 250 pizza masters from all over the world joined forces in making a pizza measuring 6,082 feet and 3.40 inches.
The recent attempt at a world record by American chefs in Fontana, California just crushed the Italians with their pizza that spanned over 6,333 feet. Team USA, lead by the PizzaOvens.com founder, went full blast on their longest pizza efforts, campaigning for their event online through their website (longestpizza.com) and Facebook efforts. Here's their pizza ingredient breakdown: a total of 17,756 pounds of dough, 768 A10 Cans of Sauce (approximately 5,000 pounds), and 3,900 lbs of cheese. It took a team of 100 to complete the pizza, the entire process taking 54 hours (40 hours of prep plus 14 hours of cooking).

While the massive effort to produce this kind of delicious carb-filled show earned them a nod at the Guinness World Records, it also begs the question–who ate it all and how many were they able to feed? The good news is, all the proceeds and product of their efforts go to local Homeless Shelters and Food Banks.
