Now Open: Goryeo Korean Dining, Okada Manila’s Premium KBBQ Restaurant

An upscale and premium Korean restaurant in the heart of the newest casino and resort complex in Manila, Goryeo Korean Dining offers nothing but the most authentic Korean dishes curated by Chef Hojin Lee.

Up your Korean barbeque gaming in Okada Manila’s recently opened Korean restaurant! An upscale and premium Korean restaurant in the heart of the newest casino and resort complex in Manila, Goryeo Korean Dining offers nothing but the most authentic Korean dishes curated by Chef Hojin Lee.

Goryeo got its name from one of Korea’s three ancient kingdoms and dynasties – Goryeo. Just like its name’s roots, the restaurant also reflects a traditional vibe and ambiance, mixed with tables and chairs that spelled modernity and elegance. With its murals and art pieces inspired by the ancient Korean aesthetics to the symbols inscribed on the walls, anyone’s dining experience will surely be elevated as they’d feel like they’re taken to a mix of two different eras.

While Goryeo takes pride in serving premium meats for grilling, they also offer a wide variety of Korean favorites – from their banchan (Korean side dishes), the starters, to their a la carte dishes. To make their dining even better, guests may also choose from a range of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks which would go well with the dishes that they’re having.

Here are dishes you should definitely try when you visit the Korean restaurant:

Goryeo Korean Dining
6 Complimentary Banchan

A Korean meal will never be complete without the banchan, and in Goryeo, they serve every table with 6 complimentary side dishes to enjoy with their food. The side dishes are always something to look forward, because the banchan they serve their guests are different every day. The appetizers are delicious small bites while waiting for the main event, plus these banchan are also refillable so feel free to ask for a second or a tenth round if you finish it quickly!

Haemul Pajeon (P600)

Some of the other appetizers you could have aside from the banchan are Goryeo’s Tteok-Bokki and Haemul Pajeon. Tteok-bokki is a dish made with stir-fried rice cakes and is usually served spicy. If you’re not fan of spicy food, though, you could always tell the staff to adjust the heat level of the dish. Haemul Pajeon, on the other hand, is a Korean pancake made with seafood and green onion.

Galbi-jjim

Although it may sometimes be considered as a banchan, the Japchae – sautéed sweet potato noodles, vegetables, and beef strips – is also a good appetizer and main dish as it is already filling on its own. The restaurant’s Galbi Jjim – braised short ribs with vegetables – is also a must-try as one could simply not miss how they cook and make their beef very tender.

Dolsot Bibimbap (P500)

To those who can’t live without having rice, the Dolsot Bibimbap should be one of their orders. It’s steamed rice topped with beef and vegetable cooked in a stone pot. Guests also get to adjust the level of spiciness by limiting the sauce that they mix in with everything.

Sogogi Modeum Gui (P3500)

Goryeo offers different kinds of meat – pork and beef – for the guests to choose from, and while their samgyeopsal (pork belly) is a must-try, they also recommend to try out their Sogogi Modeum Gui, a special assorted Wagyu beef set composed of prime rib eye, outside skirt, boneless short rib, and brisket point. Presented on a wooden tray with different kinds of vegetables to grill with the meat, the dish looks is as good as it tastes. The set is also served with lettuce as the Korean barbecue is best eaten wrapped in it and consumed in just one bite.

Goryeo Korean Dining is at Upper Ground Floor, Okada Manila, New Seaside Drive, Entertainment City, Paranaque.
