Singapore restaurant 'Peperoni Pizzeria' opens first Philippine branch in Uptown Place, BGC

Peperoni Pizzeria is a popular restaurant concept by the Les Amis group hailing from Singapore; Les Amis has over a dozen food brands under their belt, all of which are located in different parts of Asia -- Singapore, Hong Kong, and Vietnam, to name a few. Now, their pizza brand has set up shop in the Philippines.

Serving Italian classics in Singapore since 2004, Peperoni has opened its first outlet in the country at Uptown Mall in BGC and they're eager to feed pizza lovers its signature supersized offering – their XXL 21-inch wood fired pizza.

Their signature XXL Pizza comes in 15 classic Italian flavors, with Diavola, Prosciutto Crudo di Parma, and Bacon Miele as best sellers. Pizzas here, aside from being supersized, are wood-fired with a thin crust that is a balance of crisp and chewy. The pizza base is handmade, and tomato sauce homemade.

It's easy to work around your pizza budget here, as their pies are priced by size, no matter what pizza flavor you are craving. Three sizes are available: Medium 9" (P395), Large 12" (P565), and XXL 21" (P1,250). You also have an option to add more toppings and meats, and XXL pizzas can come in two flavors of your choice.

While pizza is the star at the pizzeria, don't miss out on their pasta lineup, where your pasta of choice (spaghetti, tagliatelle, linguine, penne, fusili, or capellini) will be cooked in classic, comforting ways. Their version of the aglio e olio (garlic and olive oil pasta) is exceptional--order the Aglio Olio e Peperoncino (P340) in spaghetti for an al dente bowl of happiness, tumbling with potent garlic flavors and a little heat from red chili.

Another dish you should have space for prior to carbo-loading Peperoni's pizza and pasta offerings is their appetizer of Funghi Portobello con Pollo (P455). Its heftiness and well-rounded flavors can easily make this antipasti your main course -- a very meaty portobello mushroom that's deep fried meets fillets of chicken sauteed in red wine sauce. It's lipsmacking and will fill you up quick. Mop up the sauce with your pizza crust.

To end your classic and hearty Italian meal at Peperoni Pizzeria, get their Tiramisu (P295) that's potent with its coffee and kahlua flavors rather than an overload of sugar.
