If you've dined at this popular restaurant in Alabang, then most likely you've let your sweet tooth sink into this dessert. If you're unfamiliar with this photogenic treat, then read on as this might be your new and delicious way of eating mangga't suman.
At Neil's Kitchen, eating your eyes happens right before your devour their food, and this is very much applicable to their best-selling sweet, the Fried Suman, Mangga & Chocnut. This modern and whimsical take on the classic Pinoy combination of mangga't suman is the chef's personal preference, just like his different versions of sinigang, paksiw, and paella that he's grown popular for. The mango and suman merienda is transformed into a serving of fried suman served with a block of mango jelly made from scratch by using pureed mango, and comes with another Pinoy favorite — crumbled chocnut.
'Count the memories, not the calories,' is a quote proudly plastered on one of the walls of Neil's Kitchen, and it's a motto so perfect with every bite with this dessert. Sweet, sweet memories.
