Last June 29th, UK's top coffee chain opened its first outlet in the country. Located at Eastwood, Costa Coffee Philippines brings in the style of London into the cafe with its warm interior and selection of coffee, pastries and sandwiches.
According to the Costa website, the brand was started in London back in the 1970s by Italian brothers Sergio and Bruno Costa. Now the brand is across many countries, with thousands of coffee shops in UK and beyond. In the first Manila store, Costa's two floors of space is London-styled, with sofas donning the Union Jack, scenes from UK framed on walls; right outside the coffee shop is a replica of the vintage red telephone box iconic and seen all around UK.
Coffee at Costa is served hot, or ice-shaken, like their Cappuccino, Latte, Americano, and Mocha. Recommended are the Flat White (P150) and Caffe Caramella (P145/P160/P170). Ice blended drinks are also offered: Frostino ice blended coffee and ice blended cream in assorted flavors. Not craving for coffee? Fruit coolers, lemonade, tea, and chocolate drinks are also available.
To eat, an array of food ranging from savory to sweet for breakfast, grab-and-go, or snacks. Order salads like Caesar Salad and Asian Chicken Noodle Salad for healthy fare, sandwiches like Melted Swiss Cheese with Mushroom in Flatbread (P170) and Grilled Spicy Chicken in Pesto Baguette (P170) for more filling options.
