French-Japanese Restaurant ‘Le Petit Soufflé’ Now Open in Century City Mall, Makati

Le Petit Soufflé serves comfort food that highlights French and Japanese flavors in a welcoming garden-inspired setting. The new establishment is brought to life by the same team behind Hole in the Wall, and showcases creations by Miko Aspiras and Kristine Lotilla (of Scout’s Honor Craft Cookie Shop, located at Hole in the Wall).

The restaurant's menu reads a lineup of soups, salad, pasta, breads, souffle and souffle pancakes, and parfaits. Playful food creations are plenty at the new spot — there's a Squid Ink Pasta (P395) that has squid and shisho smothered in squid ink sauce, using soba noodles; there's also a rice version, the Squid Ink Rice (P395) features seafood, shimeji and a soft scrambled egg on a bed of squid ink rice. For savory bread cravings, French sandwiches are available, and both their Croque Madame (P395) and Croque Monsieur (P375) are served in croissant with bechamel sauce, black forest ham, and gratinated raclette — the madame gets a sunny side up egg.

The French soufflé is known for its delicate body and light and fluffy texture. The airy cake is comprised of egg yolks and egg whites flexible to be served as both dessert and savory entree, depending on the added ingredients. At Le Petit Soufflé, they have souffle pancakes in different flavors — Classic Souffle Pancake (P160), Matcha Souffle Pancake (P180), and Classic Souffle Pancake with Cream Cheese (P200).

For delicate dessert souffles, which take 25 minutes to make, there's the Valrhona Guanaja 70% Dark Chocolate Souffle with Vanilla Creme Anglaise (P350), Matcha Valrhona Ivoire 35% While Chocolate Souffle with Vanila Creme Anglaise (P350), and French Vanilla Bean Souffle with Vanila Creme Anglaise (P300). Cooler items apt for the summer heat are found in their parfait lineup, Custard base softee (P75) in vanilla and matcha flavors, as well as cold drinks like Cold Matcha Latte (P130) and Cold Matcha Latte with Matcha softee (P170). The menu launching this week will feature even more creations, which include a Frozen Souffle lineup.
