Katsu and ramen fans in BGC, it's time to give in to your Japanese food cravings as Tampopo opens its second branch in Taguig today, July 9, 2014.
Tampopo BGC is located in Bonifacio High Street Central, beside Lorenzo's Way and above Jamba Juice. Its first branch, which opened early this year in
Promenade, Greenhills, has been popular with foodies hankering for a good Japanese meal.
Originally from Singapore, it is the first 2-in-1 ramen and tonkatsu specialty restaurant in the Philippines. The brand was started by Takaaki Takagi, who also founded Tonkichi, one of Hong Kong and Singapore’s best Tonkatsu restaurants. Takaaki Takagi, who graced the grand opening of the first Tampopo branch in the Philippines, decided to name the ramen and tonkatsu restaurant Tampopo after the classic Japanese comedy film that centers on a quest for the perfect ramen recipe.
Tampopo taps both the ramen and katsu market, specializing in both the crispy deep fried meats and succulent noodles in hot broth. So if you're a hungry lot with divided cravings of katsu and ramen, this is your best bet for a feast.
