About the Event
Posporo(s) sets local music enthusiasts on fire on September 23 when Spanish and Filipino artists share the stage again in this series of concerts organized by the Embassy of Spain and the Instituto Cervantes de Manila with the support of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), a project aimed at showcasing indie music talents from both countries to give the two sides an opportunity to experience each other´s music.

After two incredible gigs in June and July, Agoraphobia and Flying Ipis take over the emblematic indie rock scene to resume the coming together of musicians from the Philippines and Spain, making it possible to bridge the gap between differences in style, artistic forms and disciplines as well as distance.

Despite the youth of its band members and being together for just three years, Agoraphobia has evolved rapidly. Their debut EP, called Dirty Little Things, includes seven songs and a remix and was produced by Carlos Sainz and recorded in Madrid at Global Music Studio. This record highlights the girls’ strength and rich melodies, which are riddled with sarcasm and irony.
In April 2015, after its performance in the music festival South by Southwest (SXSW) in Texas, where they clinched success well above their initial expectations, and following an equally successful tour in Spain, Agoraphobia began recording their second EP, Ready to Play, which was released late that year. This new record presents an unmistakable evolution towards the development of a personal identity, initiating an era of musical maturity, which is reflected in each of their five works. With this new record, Agoraphobia, after being selected for the prestigious circuit ‘Girando Por Salas’ in its sixth edition, will once again tour the Iberian peninsula. Agoraphobia is also scheduled to play, for the second time around, at SXSW.

Flying Ipis is an all-girl, garage punk rock quartet who hails from Manila. Composed of Deng Garcia (vocal/guitar), Ymi Castel (guitar), Tanya Singh (bass) and Gaki Azurin (drums), the band’s audacious name (ipis, cockroach in English) elevated them and their music to a cult status.
Flying Ipis debuted in the local music circuit in 2009 with its album The Flying EP and two years later, the band formally joined LockedDown Entertainment that saw the release of its first fulllength album, Give Ipis A Chance (2013).
Flying Ipis went on to show the empowered sexuality of its members as well as their spunk and skill through their songs with the launching of LockedDown Entertainment’s concert tour series Group Study, while in 2016 the band released its second album The Roach Motel.
