About the Event

Music. Art. Film. Architectural design. All of this can inspire you to put pen to paper and start writing a story. But how do you frame these experiences into narratives that can fire up the imagination and bring people together through a shared experience?

Narrative Wrting Workshop

Music. Art. Film. Architectural design. All of this can inspire you to put pen to paper and start writing a story. But how do you frame these experiences into narratives that can fire up the imagination and bring people together through a shared experience?

Writer’s Block Philippines will be hosting, “Appreciation: A Narrative Writing Workshop with Sarge Lacuesta” on May 19, 2019. The workshop will bring various art forms that we are all familiar with as writing prompts so participants can improve their writing craft and style in whatever narrative form they practice. It will be a mix of lecture, music appreciation, film viewing, and reflective writing.

Lacuesta is a multiple Palanca Award winning author who has written several books, including four short story collections, two non-fiction books, and a collection of graphic stories. He is Editor-at-Large at Esquire Magazine (Philippines) and Senior Editor at Panorama: the Journal of Intelligent Travel. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Centre of PEN International (Poets, Essayists, Novelists).

The workshop will be hosted by Writer’s Block Philippines whose founders Ana P. Santos and Nikka Sarthou-Lainez have been conducting writing workshops for nearly a decade empowering writers, communicators, and creative entrepreneurs.

“Appreciation: A Narrative Writing Workshop with Sarge Lacuesta” will be on May 19, 2019, from 1pm to 6pm at Fully Booked, Bonifacio Global City. The course fee is P2,000 and participants should be at least 18 years old.
