About the Event

Featuring Felix Bacolor, Dharma Bum, Jo Fong, Heloise Godfrey-Talbot, Eisa Jocson, Pow Martinez, Alwin Reamillo, and Jan de Bry, Godfrey explores relationships in art: the experience of making and experiencing a work of art, and the relationship between dance and visual art. He questions why there seems to be little discussion of this link in the Philippines and indeed little crossover between visual art and dance. As in his invitation to the artists, Godfrey asks: “How does the artist, and then the viewer, experience the work?”

Tony Godfrey came from Britain to Asia in 2009 and now lives and works in the Philippines as teacher, writer, and curator. For many years he ran the MA (Contemporary Art) at Sotheby’s Institute London. He has published books on contemporary art and his 1998 book, Conceptual Art, was the first publication to see conceptual art as a global phenomenon.
