To celebrate 100 years of Independence of the Czech Republic and Poland and two decades of partnership among countries of the Visegrad Group, the embassies of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovak Republic, in cooperation with the UP College of Music cordially invite you to SOUNDSCAPES OF CENTRAL EUROPE on September 22, 2018, (Saturday) at 7:00 PM, Abelardo Hall Auditorium, UP College of Music, Ylanan Street, UP Diliman, 1101 Quezon City.

Soundscapes Of Central Europe

The concert features piano ensemble and piano trio works as well as art songs by Czech, Hungarian, Polish and Slovak composers to be interpreted by the UP College of Music Keyboard Department Faculty and the Lozada Piano Trio.

The program includes Rondo for Two Pianos, op. 73 by Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849); Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 S. 244/2 by Franz Liszt (1811-1886); Piano Trio in G Minor, op.15 by Bedřich Smetana (1824-1884); Valsette by Zoltán Kodály (1882-1967)

Jazz Sonata for Two Pianos, op. 14 by Alexander Moyzes (1906-1984); excerpts from Slavonic Dances, op. 46 & op. 72 by Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904) and selected art songs by Karol Szymanowski (1882-1937), Franz Liszt and Antonín Dvořák.

This concert opens the 2018-2019 Keyboard Department Concert Series, celebrates the partnership of the UP College of Music with the Visegrad Group and forms part of the 102th  Anniversary Celebration of the UP College of Music.
