About the Event
Kundimans, Filipino musicals, and OPM topbill an afternoon of all-Filipino music in celebration of the month of the Filipino language.
A group of solo singers, among them students and theater performers, will be staging a concert entitled “Musikang Atin, a Buwan ng Wika Concert,” on August 26, 2018, 5:00 PM at the Manila Pianos in Makati City.
Program includes Kundiman favourites from Nicanor Abelardo, Ernani Cuenco, and Augusto Espino, arias from Filipino operas and zarzuelas, musical numbers from hit Filipino musicals by Ryan Cayabyab and Vincent de Jesus, and timeless Original Pilipino Music by Louie Ocampo, Vehnee Saturno, Willy Cruz, among others.
The roster of singers includes up and coming singers and theater and opera performers who gathered to celebrate Buwan ng Wika in a musical way. They are Kimberly Adam, Em Alcantara, Allison Rose Cervantes, Renz Nathaniel Cruz, Nerissa de Juan, Jioanna Dollsen, Eden Lorrice Dumlao, Elaine Duran, Neomi Iain Giron, Phi Palmos, Cloi Sugano, and Kendrick Tamayo. Multi-awarded pianist Gabriel Allan Paguirigan is the collaborating artist for the concert.
