About the Event

In her first Philippine exhibition after eight years, Pep Manalang presents an atypical body of work that might surprise her long-time audience by the vibrant colourful gestural compositions. Pep created these paintings as a way of expressing emotions during a transitional time. She describes them as “fast paintings - highly spontaneous and intuitive.” This is in contrast to her “quiet paintings” that are more layered with landscape-inspired compositions. There are ten paintings in the exhibit that could be described as medium-large in scale, measuring either 54”x 36” or 42”x 42”.
