Altro Mondo Arte Contemporanea proudly presents “Primal Instinction”, a group exhibition of new works by Marga Chavez, Sara Concepcion, Ralph Layaon, Ku Romillo, Karl Sandoval, Trisha Silo, and Karl Tan, at the Altro Mondo Arte Contemporanea gallery at The Picasso (3rd Floor, The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences, 119 LP Leviste St., Salcedo village, Makati city).
“In this group exhibition “PRIMAL INSTINCTION” of alumni of the College of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Santo Tomas, Ku Romillo, Marge Chavez, Trisha Silo, Sara Concepcion, Ralph Layaon, Karl Sandoval, and Karl Tan present their arguments by inflecting figuration with their respective strategies of evoking vitality, identity, and personhood,” wrote Daoana. “In Primal Instinction, what is evident among the artists is their instinctive flexing of their figurative abilities as they grapple with their respective themes. It’s a fair assessment to say that they will uncover more worlds as they further expand the ambit of their attention in the future, but their unstinting belief in the painting’s ability to render vivid flesh to concept is there and wide-awake, stirred by at once commonplace and fugitive visions.”
