About the Event
Boracay Music Festival (BMF) is set to break new barriers this summer with a brand new, large scale, 5 day celebration on Labor Day Weekend, April 27 to May 1, featuring an exciting lineup of international and local artists coming together under the magnificent sky of Boracay.
Produced by OM Bar and the Sacdalan Marketing Corporation's more than 1 dozen sister businesses of bars, restaurants and stores in the island, BMF aims to be the flagship event of the summer holidays. "We wanted to create an event the island could be proud of," SMC President Boyet Sacdalan says.
Covering an expansive footprint including 3 beachfronts, the largest of which will feature a 1,200 sqm Mainstage, BMF will be the biggest Laboracay event of the year.
BMF will be headlined by legendary dance music producer Chicane, rising duo act Lush & Simon and national talent Tom Taus with support from various leading local artists across dance music genres.
Festival nights will host the expected revelries and music, while during daytime the venues will transform into spaces for fun activities, clinics and games. BMF has partnered with Rendon Labador 24/7 Fitness to conduct a beach body contest, obstacle courses and fitness challenges. Guests can also participate in a frisbee clinic and exhibition game by the Boracay Dragons Frisbee Team as BMF raises funds for them to participate in an international championship in France.
BMF will use the Laboracay holidays as leverage to promote Philippine tourism to the coveted millennial market, young professionals and travelers all converging in tens of thousands on the island. Production design will incorporate bamboo and indigenous materials for a truly Filipino and island flavor. "We can make Boracay a centerpiece of the tourism campaign," says Project Head Maebelle Sacdalan. "With BMF we want Laboracay to be a way for Filipinos and international visitors alike to discover the rest of the Philippines."
