About the Event

Heirlooms spotlights the Filipino's passion for ownership of beautiful objects—its life extending beyond the lives of the original owners themselves.  Depending on their attached value, whether perceived or assigned to the objects, there is always someone somewhere who covets them.

Daquioag hails from the University of Santo Tomas where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. After his first solo show was mounted in the Cultural Center of the Philippines, he became a recipient of the Dharmasiswa Arts and Culture Studies Grant in Bali, Indonesia, and the Asian Artist Freeman Fellowship of the Vermont Studio Center in Vermont, USA. He has exhibited his works in New York, Beijing, Korea, Singapore and Nagoya. Daquioag is also an experienced Art Educator, well-traveled performance artist and art competition veteran.  He is a consistent winner in annual art competitions by Shell, the Art Association of the Philippines, the Philippine Art Awards, PLDT and Metrobank.

“Heirlooms” art exhibit by Prof. Thomas Daquioag will run until March 31, 2017, Art Elements Asian Gallery, Level 3 (L3), SM Aura Premier Mall, BGC, Taguig. Tel: +632-519-9683.
