About the Event

People have always turned to art, poetry, and music to express emotions. To celebrate the month of love, the Araneta Center holds a slew of exciting activities that brings art and romance to the fore.

With February also being National Arts Month, the artsy and heartfelt celebration titled “From the Heart” kicked off with an exclusive ‘Love Art Workshop’ on Feb. 8 at the Gateway Gallery in Gateway Mall.

The event, which was staged in partnership with the J. Amado Araneta Foundation, was made more meaningful with the participation of over 20 hearing-impaired and differently-abled kids from Maria Lena Buhay Memorial Foundation, Inc. and the Philippine Association for Citizens with Developmental and Learning Disabilities, Inc. (PACDLD).

The gleeful art session saw the kids enjoying where they were asked to draw their own interpretations of love. The resulting works of art will be displayed on the gallery’s Love Wall until February 20.

Upcoming events will feature swoon-worthy performances from talented Pinoy bands! On Feb. 11, Pinoy Boyband finalists Allen Cecilio, Miko Juarez, and Markus Paterson will serenade their fans at Ali Mall at 4 PM. On Feb. 12, young pop performers known as PPOP Generation will hold a concert at the New Farmers Plaza at 12 pm.

Romance fills the malls as various acoustic artists serenade shoppers on Feb. 11, 12, and 14 at the activity areas of Ali Mall, Gateway Mall, and New Famers Plaza. To top it off, a romantic swing setup provides a perfect selfie backdrop for lovers, while roving musicians will hand out free roses to random lady shoppers.

On Valentine’s Day, members of the spoken word group Words Anonymous will deliver powerful performances at the Gateway Mall activity area at 7pm. The group aims to promote the art of spoken word all over the country, and for this show they will recite love poems with messages that aim straight for the heart. As an added sweet treat for audiences, OPM artist Noel Cabangon and other surprise guests will also have special sets during the evening’s event.
