Lucky Chinatown welcomes the Mid-Autumn Festival with a grand community celebration showcasing the best of Filipino-Chinese culture in the world’s oldest Chinatown.
One of the biggest and most important Chinese festivities of the year, the Mooncake Festival, as popularly known in many parts of the world, comes alive in Lucky Chinatown as it has lined up an exciting cultural experience filled with colorful and spectacular performances, a culinary showdown, delicious treats, fun games and amazing prizes that will all take place from September 12 to 18.
The festivities kick off with the Grand Community Celebration on Sept.15 at the mall atrium, where mall patrons can experience the best of Filipino-Chinese culture with live cultural performances from Binondo-based schools and organizations from 2PM onwards.
Highlighting the event is Lucky Chinatown’s annual Mooncake Bake Off. Now on its third year, Lucky Chinatown’s The Great Mooncake Bake Off is taking place on Sept.16, 1PM at the mall atrium. The culinary showcase will feature culinary enthusiasts and various student groups who will all battle to create the most delicious and eye-catching mooncake.
On Sept.17, 1PM, Lucky Chinatown is also hosting a community Mid-Autumn Dice Game at the mall atrium. Guests can try their hand at this fun traditional game and get a chance to win round trip tickets to Asian destinations and other exciting prizes. To join the Mid-Autumn Dice Game, customers can present a single receipt purchase worth P1,500 from any Lucky Chinatown establishment from Sept. 12 – 17.
The celebration continues on Sept. 18, 2PM with an exciting musical showcase featuring Enchong Dee at the mall atrium. Fans of the ‘Chinito Heartthrob’ can watch him perform live on stage and get access to a meet and greet opportunity when they buy a copy of Enchong Dee’s album at the venue.
Kids, meanwhile, will also find plenty of opportunities to have fun at the 3rd floor of Lucky Chinatown, where they can enjoy fun kiddie activities like arts and crafts, mascot appearances and games, where they can also take home exciting treats and prizes.
Mid-Autumn celebration will not be complete without taking home a delicious mooncake. At Lucky Chinatown’s Mooncake Fair, guests can discover a delectable collection of mooncakes created no less by talented chefs from top hotels in Manila and mall establishments. Lucky Chinatown’s Mooncake Fair Mooncake Fair is open during mall hours from Sept.12 – 15 at the mall atrium and from Sept.16 – 18 at the 2nd floor.
As an added treat, movie fans can also catch one of China’s biggest summer blockbusters, League of Gods. The supernatural action epic starring Asian superstar Jet Li will be exclusively shown at Lucky Chinatown Cinemas beginning Sept. 21.
