Meet Chef André Chiang

Fully Booked proudly welcomes Asia’s leading chef and restaurateur, André Chiang, on May 21, 2016 (Saturday) 3:00pm-5:00pm at the Atrium of Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street. Chef André will be presenting his new book, Octaphilosophy: The Eight Elements of Restaurant André, the first English-language book on one of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants and World’s 50 Best Restaurants located in Singapore: Restaurant André.

Chef André takes readers into his creative methods in the fine-dining experience through a concept he calls Octaphilosophy, which revolves around eight subtly entwined elements. His conception combines Asia’s technical precision and French cuisine that collectively make up the framework within which his daily menu is created. His book reveals behind-the-scenes photography and explanations about the origin of his innovative dishes, and a year’s preview inside his world-class restaurant, which opened in 2010.

André Chiang was born in Taiwan but lived in Japan and moved to southern France at the age of 15 to work at three Michelin-starred restaurant Le Jardin des Sens under prominent chefs until he became the head chef himself. He also worked with top restaurants and chefs, such as Pierre Gagnaire, L’atalier de Joël Robuchon and La Maison Trisgros.

Copies of Octaphilosophy: The Eight Elements of Restaurant André by André Chiang will be available during the event. Only Fully Booked copies with proof of purchase (official receipt of attached sticker tag) are eligible for signing. Admission to the author talk is free.
