Rach Fest In Concert at the Park
About the Event
This Sunday, March 17, 2013, starting at 6:00 p.m., Concert at the Park pays tribute to the 140th birth anniversary of Russian pianist and composer Sergei Rachmaninoff in a program aptly titled, “Rach Fest”.
Featuring selected students of pianist Jonathan Coo, namely, Michael Avendano, Roland Vincent Saavedra, Altheia Fei Enriquez, Lady Abigail Imperio, Enrique Leroy Rodriguez, and Maysel Dano Adap. They will also pay tribute to another Russian composer, Sergei Prokofiev, in commemoration of his 60th death anniversary. And since the Open-Air Auditorium is still under rehabilitation, the concert venue will be at the Central Section of the Rizal Park, Manila, at the back of the Rizal Monument.
Concert at the Park is a weekly public service project of the Department of Tourism, under Sec. Ramon Jimenez, Jr., the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC), under Executive Director Juliet H. Villegas, and the People’s Television. NPDC Chief of the Cultural & Public Affairs Mr. Federico A. Edos is the Executive in Charge of the project. Gie V. Arnold writes the script.
