About the Event
Admit it, most of us have this hidden desire to become a star. How many of us, even if it’s just in our imagination, have dreamt at least once of being on TV television for millions to admire.
Those who are serious about pursuing that dream of fame now have an easier shot at stardom as Festival Supermall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City hosts the ‘’Road To Fame Talent and Fashion Congress Season 5’’ from Jan. 19 to March 9, at the 2nd level Carousel Court where top talent agents will look into the aspirants’ singing, acting, modeling, and dancing skills. Every P500 worth of merchandise from any Festival Supermall tenant entitles one to a sponsor’s pass which allows them access to the Road to Fame area where three talent agencies per day are ready to cast new talents.
TV 5 has also been invited to scout for talents for their upcoming shows. Get a chance to become Festival Supermall’s new image model at the Face of Festival Supermall’s Open Casting on Jan. 19, 2 p.m,- 6 p.m, with a call back on January 26 for final casting.
“Road to Fame was established to give those who want a shot at stardom a safe venue to meet with talent agencies. The reality is that there are scams that exploit people who want to become famous or who want to enter the modeling field. With Road to Fame, there’s no need to worry about this as we only invite legitimate talent agencies that have a track record for providing results to acquire projects for the talents they sign up” states Don Alonso, one of the managing partners of www.myfameandfortune.com an online website that connects talents to talent agencies.
TIPS FROM THE EXPERT
This year’s Road to Fame is even more exciting with renowned television director Fritz Ynfante to give aspirants expert tips on how to further improve their singing, acting, dancing, and modeling skills.
Direk Fritz divulges that one of the biggest tips he could give, especially to teens and kids trying out for their shot to fame, is to look their age when auditioning.
“I see so many kids come and try out and they look like they’re no longer look like teenagers or kids. They dress so mature for their age. Honestly, it’s not appealing” Direk Fritz shares.
He adds that when facing the talent agencies, an aspirant should be himself. “At the end of the day, we want freshness. We want originality. It’s what separates you from other people auditioning and what will ultimately get you booked,” he says. “Hollywood calls it ‘the X-factor’ but I’d rather call it presence. It’s when a person just grips you. When someone passes you by, you can’t help notice them. Then, we can polish that and refine that, and I think you’d have a huge chance to shine.”
Behavior, to Direk Fritz, is also very important. He says the longevity of an artist in the showbiz industry depends on their attitude.
“Another thing I look at is an aspirant’s behavior. I must be able to see that they’re humble and be able to take rejection at times since you can get rejected a lot in the business,” he adds.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Fashion Racks (PFR) Lookbook Model and PFR Runway Model Open Casting will be on Feb. 2 and 9, 2 p.m.- 6 p.m with a call back for the final casting on Feb. 16, 2 p.m. Lastly, the PFR Cutest Kid, Cover Model and Runway Model Open Casting will be on Feb. 23 and March 2, 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Kids who’ve charmed their way into the panel’s hearts will qualify for the final casting on March 9, 2 pm.
