Gee-Gee at Waterina, the Musical
August 18 to 19, 25 to 26 (Arts Above, West Avenue, Quezon City)

Artist Playground will stage a new original Filipino musical, Gee-gee At Waterina, based on the fictionalized retelling of the friendship between two gay men, this coming August at Arts Above in Quezon City.

The arts and performance company turns J. Dennis Teodosio‘s bittersweet tale of an evening in the life of a flamboyant city councilor and a sentimental comfort gay, into a musical to be directed by “King of Comedy Bars” Andrew De Real.

The musical runs on August 18, 19, 25 and 26, 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Arts Above, Artist Playground II, West Avenue Building, 112 West Avenue, QC. For inquiries, please contact Kimberly Somoza at +63975-919-3179.

Rak of Aegis
June 20 to September 2 (PETA Theater Center)

“Rak of Aegis” first opened in 2014. At that time, we thought we were just launching a musical. Little did we know…we were giving birth to a Philippine musical theater phenomenon!

“Rak of Aegis” is every Pinoy’s musical! The play is a stylized and hyperreal celebration of Filipino resilience – people striving amidst adversity, individuals keeping a cheerful appearance despite bleak economic conditions, finding joy, laughter and love while bereft of dignity and stability.

From the production design to the staging to the heart capturing performances of the actors, “Rak of Aegis” wowed the audience with its impeccable beauty. Not to mention that the jaw-dropping, powerful singing of the ensemble pushes the full house to a standing ovation.
