An exciting obstacle course run series is coming to Manila!

Maharlika Warrior is the country's first and all-original Filipino OCR series, that heavily pulls its elements and narrative from our local folklore and epics.

For its first course, Maharlika will bring its 'warriors' to Intramuros this March 15 in an obstacle course inspired by the moon-eating monster, Bakunawa. It spans for 6 kilometers from Fort Santiago to Baluarte de San Gabriel, and players will go against more than 20 obstacles on a race filled with twists and turns that mimic the body of the legendary dragon-serpent.

“We wanted to create a parallel story between this creature and the obstacles. Something that will resonate not just to those looking for a new obstacle course race but also to those who want to relive these folklores from our past. Longtime OCR fans will also enjoy the challenge as our 6km course is designed by our race director, certified strength and conditioning coach and endurance athlete Gabb Rosario,” Stephen Ku, CEO of Worldwide Womb Asia, said in a statement.

The OCR series also opens more opportunities for people of different levels of fitness, grouping them into Mandirigma, or those who are new to obstacle course race; the Sultan, or those who are ready to compete against their own age-group; and the Alamat who are the legendary racers who can easily run through the obstacles and compete against runners with that same level of experience.

Early bird tickets start from P1,800 while regular ticket prices are P2,150 for the Mandirigma category, P2,650 for the Sultan category, and P2,750 for those joining the Alamat category. To register, visit the Maharlika Warrior official website.
