Creatives-at-heart can have their pick among LGC’s tried and tested courses!

Having successfully conducted two batches of online workshops within the last four months, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) remains steadfast in strengthening its digital platform to bring theater education and appreciation closer to as many Filipinos as possible.

Launching this October, and for the final time this 2020, LGC Plus Stream 3 will be conducted exclusively on weekends. Participants can expect to be immersed in one of a kind learning experience during the workshops’ five 3-hours sessions conducted on Zoom. With an emphasis on practical and on-hand activities guided by PETA’s finest Artist-teachers, the program will be concluded through an online recital.

ACTING FOR BEGINNERS

Saturdays/Sundays at 5:00 – 8:30 PM
Sessions: October 24, 25, 31, November 7, 8 | Showcase: November 15

Open to beginners and experienced performers alike, this course will make use of PETA’s signature acting curriculum to help participants master the craft of acting. Students can expect to learn not only the rudiments of script analysis, screenwork, and character creation, but also to discover that any space is a performance space through the guidance of actor and director, Dudz Teraña.

ACTING FOR SCREEN

Fridays/Sundays at 5:00 – 8:30 PM
October 23, 25, 30, November 6, 8 | Showcase: November 15

Led by actor and director, Phil Noble, this course will help performers shake off their camera shyness and improve on their camera acting skills through sessions on the technical aspects of acting in front of a camera, character creation, and monologue performance.

CREATIVE MUSICAL THEATER

Fridays/Sundays at 5:00 – 8:30 PM
October 23, 25, 30, November 6, 8 | Showcase: November 15

Designed to develop one’s musicality through interpretation and storytelling, this highly sought-out course for musically-inclined performers will be taught by composer and musical director, Jeff Hernandez. 

INTRODUCTION TO WRITING FOR PERFORMANCE

Fridays/Sundays at 5:00 – 8:30 PM
October 23, 25, 30, November 6, 8 | Showcase: November 15

An introductory course made to empower aspiring writers, participants will be led by writer and actor, J-mee Katanyag through brain-stimulating exercises aimed at freeing writers of creative blocks in writing performative monologues, songs, short narratives, poems, or even in keeping a journal.

PETA invites all theater enthusiasts and aspiring artists, both experienced and beginners, aged 18 and above, to be part of this creative journey that will serve to be a positive part of their 2020. More than artistic development and growth, this can be a chance for each participant to alleviate their stress amidst these uncertain times.
