Teatro Pasiking, the backpack/mobile theater group of the Philippines, presents Pobreng Alindanaw by J. Dennis Teodosio to kick off the summer vacation.
Pobreng Alindanaw tackles the age-old concerns of self-esteem, beauty and acceptance in using fresh and witty language, and contemporary references. The play, a fable set in modern times, is about two dragonflies that attempt to transform themselves into butterflies by inhabiting an old cocoon only to encounter its old owner. The play reveals harsh truths about their existence in enjoyable conversations with a mix of low and high brand of comedy. Such lively discussion delivers the tragedy at the end.
