1. Artur Dutkiewicz Piano Solo “ImproMazurka”
Date: November 12, 7:30 PM
Venue: CCP Little Theater
Dubbed as the “Ambassador of Polish Jazz” in 2012 by the Jazz Forum Magazine, Dutkiewicz has appeared in more than 60 countries around the world from the USA through Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. This time, he will be performing at the Cultural Center of the Philippines with his piano solo. The program includes Theme from The New World Symphony, 2nd Movement, Africa Mazurka, Polish Mazurka, Chased Mazurka, Morning Mazurka, Mazurka Oberka, The Lord is my Shepherd, Nocturne in C Major Op. 16 No. 4, Minuet in G Major Op. 14 No.1, and Les Iles Philippines. 2. Mervy Pueblo and Atsuko Yamagata ‘Transcendental’ Exhibit Unveiling
Date: November 14, 6 PM
Venue: Little Theater Lobby
The Cultural Center of the Philippines is proud to present the works of visual artists Mervy Pueblo and Atsuko Yamagata, from the recently concluded 7th international art festival called the Nakanojo Biennale in Japan.
The artists’ works explore both the physical and nonphysical realms. Pueblo plays with coded references, creating mysterious draperies that portray contemporary reality. Meanwhile, Yamagata’s work explores materialistic definitions of the immaterial, like how one’s journey is represented by his/her own footprints.
Exhibit viewing hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm. Hours are extended until 10 pm on days with evening performances at the CCP Main Theater. 3. 37th PPO Concert Season: “Gold: Classical Music Treasures”
Date: November 15, 8 PM (Concert Series III)
Venue: Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (CCP Main Theater)

For the third concert series of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra’s 37th season, the PPO will be led by conductor Yoshikazu Fukumura. It will also feature the SORA Ensemble of Japan, composed of members Hiromasa Iwasaki (oboe), Rei Ishiguro (bassoon), Kana Kobagashi (violin), and Keiich Yamada (cello). 4. Leonardo Da Vinci Masterclass
Date: November 20
Venue: CCP Dream Theatre
Led by Being Leonardo‘s Massimiliano Finazzer Flory with the assistance of Carlito Casaje, this masterclass will tackle the topic of interdisciplinarity through the conjugation of Art and Science, Memory and Imagination, Tradition and Technology, and Theater and Cinema.
It will delve deeper on how Leonardo Da Vinci dubbed himself as a designer at a time that the term did not exist. Through the short film screening, Flory will also explain how its cinematic techniques had been incorporated with the teachings of Leonardo Da Vinci, conjugating photography, editing and screenplay together with history and pictorial theories, in order to raise Nature and Environment to the role of the protagonist, a school of thought known as Deep Ecology.

5. Being Leonardo Da Vinci: An Impossible Interview
Date: November 21, 7 PM
Venue: CCP Little Theater

This is Leonardo Da Vinci’s true-life portrayed onstage. It recounts the man’s life as the painter, the scientist, and the inventor, as well as his authentic language, his secrets, methods of working, and passions.
Being Leonardo Da Vinci is a one-act play by renowned Italian director and actor Massimiliano Finazzer Flory, who is known for fusing Philosophy and Literature with Performing Arts. In the format of an impossible interview, the man acts as Da Vinci himself and performs in Renaissance language original texts written by Leonardo. He answers questions about his childhood, his civil and military activities, and how to become a “good painter” (bono pittore); the relationship between Painting and Science, Painting and Sculpture, Painting and Music; comments on “The Last Supper” and the figures of the apostles; replies to his enemies’ attacks, prophesies of man’s flying, and finally offers maxims and aphorisms to live by in our times.
