Here’s Everything You Need To Know About Art Fair Philippines 2019

Returning for their 7th year, Art Fair Philippines promises a strong lineup with never before seen art pieces and unique installations.

Returning for their 7th year, Art Fair Philippines promises a strong lineup with never before seen art pieces and unique installations. Once again, they will transform The Link carpark in Makati to a multi-level art exhibition from February 22 to 24, 10am-9pm

There will be 52 galleries – 36 from the Philippines and 16 from all over the world, which will be exhibited for the first time in the country. They will be showcasing work commissioned for the fair from artists who have made an impact both critically and commercially.

David Medalla, one of the most internationally recognized Filipino artists will stage a new iteration of A Stitch in Time which was conceptualized in 1968; Ray Albano who is a legendary CCP Curator work entitled Step on the Sand and Make Footprints will also be featured; Mauro Malang Santos who is known for his portraits of women will also be part of the gallery; Fernando Botero who is known for his signature style depicting figures and objects in exaggerated proportions is the first international artist to be featured in the gallery.

Other artists to be featured are Ryan Villamael (Behold a City), Oca Villamiel (Cheap Medicine), Ian Fabro (Inferno, Purgatorio, Paradiso), Christina Quisimbing Ramilo (Forest for the Trees), Olivia d'Aboville (Everything, Everywhere, Everyone) and MM Yu (Subject/Object).

Besides the art exhibit, there will also be scheduled talks featuring a talk called Tax 101: Taxes for Artists and Creatives that will help artists and creatives in their journey. Art historian Kathy Galiz from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will also be sharing her knowledge on late 18th to 19th-century French art.

Fairgoers will also have special perks and privileges for Art Fair Philippines' 10 Days of Art, a series of events around Makati featuring galleries and museum celebrating art beyond the fair. Art Fair Philippines 2019 tickets are now available for purchase on their website. Ticket prices are as follows: P350/regular, P150/students with valid IDs and P100/Makati students with valid IDs.
