Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group is proud to announce two fresh faces who will take center stage as the Hilton sisters this August in the critically acclaimed musical, Side Show. Written by Bill Russell and composed by Henry Krieger of DREAMGIRLS fame, SIDE SHOW tells the story of conjoined twins who try to overcome their impediment and make a name for themselves as stage and film stars. Daisy and Violet navigate their way through fortune and fame despite their differences, and along the way learn valuable lessons about love, loss, friendship, sisterhood, and what it truly means to be unique.
Gab Pangilinan and Kayla Rivera lead the cast as Daisy and Violet Hilton, two of the most iconic female roles in Broadway history. They join the previously announced Markki Stroem as Terry, David Ezra as Buddy, and Arman Ferrer as Jake.
Gab gained attention in the theatre scene in PETA’s Rak of Aegis in June 2014, and has since starred in numerous roles both on stage and on screen. She is mostly known for her work as Nancy Jane in D5 Studio’s web series, Forever Sucks. She has also made appearances in ABS-CBN’s hit show Till I Met You and TV5’s Sine Squad. Her versatility as a singer-actress has landed her roles for numerous musicals and plays, which include Ti Moune in Once on This Island, Prinsesa Mina in Tagu-taguan, Nasaan Ang Buwan?, Ariel in The Tempest Reimagined, Chelsea in 3 Stars and the Sun, Annie in F(r)iction, Cha Cha in Grease, and many more. After starting out as a college intern for Atlantis in 2012, SIDE SHOW will be the first musical she will be leading with the company.
Kayla is no new face to the theatre scene either. She has starred in numerous Atlantis Theatrical musicals where she has taken on some of the most beloved stage roles including Nina Rosario in IN THE HEIGHTS, Princess Jasmine in Disney’s ALADDIN Carrie White in CARRIE, Wednesday Addams in THE ADDAMS FAMILY and Sherrie in ROCK OF AGES. She has also made her television appearances as a performer for GMA’s Sunday All Stars, and ABS CBN’s ASAP. She has also been nominated for international awards such as the Aliw Awards and the David Foster Star Search, for which she won. Dubbed as the R&B Sweetheart from Canada, Kayla’s singing is unflappable, and she is more than ready to return to the Manila stage for SIDE SHOW.
