American Horror Story is described as an anthology series, with stories centered on different locations and time periods, each with their own sets of creepy characters. From a mental asylum, a coven, all the way down to a good old fashioned haunted house, American Horror Story is a sure hit for horror fans the world over.

2. Sleepy Hollow

Sleep Hollow is a loose modern-day adaptation of Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”. Ichabod Crane wakes up 250 years in the future and is made to solve a mystery dating back to founding fathers. The only problem is that The Headless Horseman gets revived as well and goes on a rampage in modern day Sleepy Hollow. Crane then teams up with a detective to prevent all hell from breaking loose. Don’t lose your head following all the action.

If you’ve been a fan of Final Destination series, you might have an idea of what to expect from this one. A horrific premonition prompts a guy to convince his friends to leave a race event, sparing them all from a tragic demise. They may have cheated death then, but each of them begins to meet a grisly death. If there were awards given for most creative death scenes in movies, Final Destination would be a runaway winner each and every time.

4. Penny Dreadful

Classic literary characters get cast in a dark light on Penny Dreadful, a psychological thriller of a series that explores supernatural events taking place in Victorian era London. Packed with scares a plenty, this show is a sexy, gothic shock fest that will surely fill you with dread.

Zombies were scary enough, but they get downright terrifying when they start running. Both films are set in London, where a deadly virus has turned people into rabid, flesh eating creatures. With survivors still struggling to make sense of the outbreak, they learn that the zombies are only the beginning of their troubles.

You never know what you might find in the woods. You might see some wildfire, get an up close experience with nature, and maybe, a masked, machete wielding maniac with a thing for offing unsuspecting camp counselors! Jason Voorhees is a big name in the slasher genre for a reason.

 After spending time in a psychiatric facility, a young woman returns home to find out that isn’t the right kind of place for someone recovering from serious mental issues. With plot twists tighter than a straightjacket, The Uninvited is a good watch for fans of psychological horror films!

10. Child's Play

By this time, Child’s Play is a classic in the horror genre. The story revolves around a murderer who uses black magic to transfer his soul to a doll, which then ends up as a boy’s birthday gift.
