This often hilarious mistake is so common, that there's an actual word for it. Mondegreen as define by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary is “a word or phrase that results from a mishearing of something said or sung.” The term was coined by American writer Sylvia Wright in her 1954 essay “The Death of Lady Mondegreen.”
