This may be an extremely busy week for the cinemas but the metro's concert scene is no less exciting! With three world-class acts lined up this weekend, music lovers won't run out of options on what to watch.
Audio-philes, particularly the girls, are invited to meet The Wanted-- UK's sexiest boy band. Watch Max, Siva, Jay, Tom and Nathan as they perform live at the NBC Tent, Bonifacio Global City on September 14.
Boys on the other hand are expected to make a beeline to InterContinental Manila’s Gambrinus Bar this Friday from 9:00pm to 12:00am. Cute and talented YouTube sister act sensation: Krissy and Ericka Villongco, will be there to do their interpretation of country, pop and rock music that will have you humming and dancing to the beat.
For something more unconventional, check out the public performances of Act of Congress-- a band from Birmingham, Alabama which has an organic sound that combines hook-laden melodies, compelling songwriting, and intelligent acoustic instrumentation. Act of Congress will perform in three concerts on September 14, 7 PM in Marilao, Bulacan; September 15, 6 PM at The Podium, Ortigas Center, Pasig; and September 16, 5PM, at the Concert at the Park in Rizal Park, Manila. A jamming session with Filipino artists Bayang Barrios and Kalayo Band is slated on September 15, 9PM at 70s Bistro in Anonas, Quezon City. The band will conduct masterclasses on September 12, 2-5 PM at the CCP MKP Hall; and September 13, 2-5PM in Marilao, Bulacan.
Those who prefer to stay home and watch the boob tube are in for excitement as well. Premiering on TV this weekend are new shows like:
This Saturday, foodies (especially those based up north) are invited to attend "the biggest overnight food bazaar of 2012." Dubbed Calle Bistro, the event is a night of food adventure made more special with performances by live bands. It will be held at Eton Centris, EDSA Corner Quezon Avenue (Q. Ave MRT Station), Quezon City. Gates would open at 3:00PM and admission is free!
On the other hand, folks down south can check out fairly new resto, Le Petit Cheri for a taste of Paris in Alabang.
The Paris inspired restaurant also doubles as a mini-library. Be sure to bring that book you've been meaning to finish when you check Le Petit Cheri this weekend.
It's payday yet again. Will you be spending your money in either of these sales?
If you're in search of bargains on books, school supplies, and comics, we suggest you to make that drive to the SMX Convention Center and check out The Manila International Book Fair this weekend. In store are hard to find books, magazine back issues, independently published pieces, and numerous seminars that promote learning. Check out their Facebook page for schedules.
Forever 21 is slashing off up to 50% off on selected items on September 14-16. Take advantage of this sale and build your holiday wardrobe this early!
