The Spaceflower Show

Formed in early 2000 by Baguio-born and bred brothers Bong and Kix Manansala, THE SPACEFLOWER SHOW is an offspring of the brothers' experiment with a different sound genre: fusing classic jazz, soul, bossanova, mento and calypso (Jamaican style), rocksteady beat, two tone, blues, traditional reggae, bluebeat otherwise known as SKA.
The Spaceflower Show is fronted by Bong, who is known for his outrageous stage antics and powerful voice; and Kix, a well-regarded guitarist (for his ability to handle a range of guitar styles) and arranger. They are joined by fellow Baguio music teachers Jeng Nufable (Rhythm Guitar), Adam Pimpinio (Bass Guitar), Buddha Mina (Drums, Percussions), Wally Darang (Trumpet), Carl Arguelles (Trombone), Jared Nerona (keyboards) and Louie de Guzman (Alto Saxophone).
In Baguio, the band released an independent album which sold well. They also contributed odd tracks for an Indies compilation album.
The band contributed their song "Boogieman" as the carrier single of Jam88.3 and Galaxy Records' Doobie Nights Album in September 2006.
The Spaceflower Show's songs Boogieman, You're All Mine, and Tres Busilak (their latest single) has been getting regular airplay in Manila radio stations Jam88.3 and NU107.
From their hometown Baguio where they currently reign as the most respected SKA band, the band has already moved to Manila- performing regularly in bars such as Xaymaca, Gweilos Makati; as well as in schools and corporate events.
The Spaceflower Show is all set to release their debut album early 2007.
