Noel is the voice behind the popular song, 'Kanlungan' or 'Pana-panahon' as most people would call it. This singer, songwriter and musical director started as a folksinger in 1982 and since then has been performing in music lounges, concerts and bars throughout Metro Manila, Hong Kong, Paris, Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Geneva, and Brazil. Despite his accolades abroad, he is most validated by how his own people have embraced his work, as he shares his songwriting talents with the likes of Randy Santiago, Agot Isidro, Nikki Gil, Cesar Montano, and many others.
Noel has just recently released his new album, 'Himig Nating Pag-ibig,' a collection of Filipino love songs mostly originally written by Noel. The album also revisits timeless OPM ballads - 'Ang Himig Natin,' a Juan de la Cruz original, and 'Ang Himig Ng Pag-ibig,' one of the most beautiful Pinoy love songs ever written, composed by Lolita Carbon and originally recorded by Asin.
This multifaceted artist has a gift for creating hook-laden melodies and writing heartfelt and inspirational lyrics, all of which depict the many facets of love, as seen through the eyes and sung from the heart of Noel.
'To hear him live is to see a true Filipino artist in his element. All Noel needs is his guitar and a comfortable stool in which to sit. The musical magic? That he creates all on his own - it comes from deep within. His passion for music is palpable," says Raymond Javelosa, a Cabangon fan. "I was mesmerized when I heard him play live."
Revisit. Move on. Celebrate life and love with Noel Cabangon.
